Meet the Crew

Captains Jean Claude and Ellen combine their love of the water and good food to provide the perfect hosts for your sailing adventure. They have been sailing together for over 20 years and have chartered their boat in the fabulous islands around Thailand and Malaysia as well as in South Florida and the Bahamas. They sailed together from Malaysia to Florida via the Indian Ocean, Red Sea, Mediterranean, Atlantic and Caribbean seas. Jean Claude has been sailing for over 30 years and participated in several trans-Atlantic regattas and has delivered sailboats in the Caribbean and Mediterranean regions. More recently, Ellen and Jean Claude spend their summers in Abaco captaining Kiskeedee as part of the Bahamas Sea Base high adventure sailing camp.

Kiskeedee Dynamique Express 44

Built in France, 1983; US Coastguard Documented.

Kiskeedee is a ketch rig (2 masts) with a large and comfortable cockpit equipped with cushions, a table for outdoor dining, a hard Bimini and awnings for shade or rain. She has lots of flat deck space for sun-bathing and dolphin spotting. Down below are 3 double cabins (one cabin with head reserved for crew), a large salon with table surrounded by cushioned settees and guest head with shower.  For hot showers, we have a solar heated deck shower, or try a fun hot water bucket shower in the head. Cabins and common areas are equipped with fans, but the vessel is not air-conditioned. Enjoy the night breezes coming through the numerous hatches!

Miami and Biscayne Bay

Charter the sailboat Kiskeedee for a day sail. All of our day charters include our experienced and knowledgeable captain as well as our popular homemade french-style lunch. You will board the sailboat at Kiskeedee Sailing Charters on the Miami River or we can arrange for boarding at Dinner Key Marina. Kiskeedee Sailing Charters is one of the few sailboats that also offer a ride down the historic Miami River with its drawbridges, tugboats, lobster fisherman, famous restaurants and towering high-rises.

We sail through downtown Miami and out into gorgeous Biscayne Bay, one of the most popular spots for sailing. The waters are calm and protected even when the breeze picks up and the sun is almost always shining. From here we can choose to head towards the star-studded islands near Miami Beach, out to the ocean via the Port of Miami or towards Key Biscayne and Cape Florida.

Sail the Abacos in the Bahamas

Join Kiskeedee for a fabulous week in the Abaco islands of the Bahamas. Discover these island gems – – a true paradise for sailors and snorkelers! We know the islands inside and out and will show you the amazing beaches, reefs, local settlements, bars and restaurants.

Our Abaco sailing charters are based out of Marsh Harbour, which is easily reached by air from several points in Florida such as Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando and West Palm Beach Florida.

We will spend the week visiting the Abaco cays that surround Marsh Harbour, a cruising ground of over 30 miles. Sail the crystalline waters, laze on the sandy beaches (softest sand around!), snorkel the pristine reefs and visit the bustling settlements to shop, eat, walk and enjoy the sights.

The itinerary is flexible– guided first by the weather and of course by your preferences. We try to visit a different island each day and spend the night in a quiet and protected anchorage.
