OUR APPROACH
Dr Smood products are always USDA certified organic, certified kosher, non-HPP and non-GMO.
Our nutrient-rich menu is full of superfoods, naturally free of dairy, eggs, refined sugars, preservatives, pesticides, and specifically formulated to optimize our products’ nutritional value and maximize your health.
We use superfoods to take our performance products beyond just “healthy” or just “organic.” Superfoods are highly nutritious, concentrated ingredients that have above average levels of vitamins and minerals.
And a little bit goes a long way: When consumed daily, a small amount of superfoods can make a life-changing difference to the look and feel of your body and mental well-being. That is why in addition to organic fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats, we add in powerful doses of superfoods to our entire menu. You can find superfoods in our Smoodys, juices, pastries, oatmeal, salads and so much more.
Nutrition is the backbone of how we formulate our food. With every bite of our organic nutrient-dense food, specific signals are sent straight from the stomach to your body. What you choose to eat signals either health or disease. Our in-house nutrition doctors and experts look at the nutrients, minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, proteins, enzymes and fats that our bodies can use to make itself work, feel, and look even better.
In line with a healthy lifestyle and need of relaxation we have thoughtfully designed, clean, and inspiring cafe environments created so you can relax in an effortlessly cool space. We offer a Grab & Go section and instore Smood Market with some of the most potent superfood powders. Most products are available online and for catering.
OUR STORY
Dr Smood was founded in 2014 by Danish business visionary René Sindlev and his wife Patrizia. Seeing a lack of all organic and healthful cafes backed by real nutrition science, they were joined by acclaimed nutrition experts and oversaw the creation of a menu with specifically tailored health benefits mapped to six moods: Power, Beauty, Immunity, Detox, Energy, or Health products. All of them with the ambition to improve people’s lives through nutrient-dense performance foods.
The first Dr Smood cafe and a commissary were established in Wynwood in Miami in 2016. In 2017, Dr Smood opened a commissary in Long Island City and its first cafes in New York.
